1. The "Local First" Principle
At CanoTools, we prioritize your privacy above all else. The core functionality of our application—including PDF manipulation, image conversion, and data formatting—is designed using WebAssembly and modern browser APIs. This means your files are processed entirely locally on your device.
We do not upload your documents, images, passwords, or code to our servers for processing. Once the tool page has loaded in your browser, the actual calculations and file modifications happen directly within your machine's memory.
2. Information We Collect
While file processing is completely local, we do collect minimal information strictly necessary to operate user accounts and manage Pro/Lifetime features:
- Account Data: When you log in using Google, we securely store your basic profile information (Name, Email Address, and Profile Picture URL) to maintain your account session across devices.
- Subscription Data: We store your subscription status (e.g., Free, Pro, Lifetime) and a secure customer reference identifier.
3. Payment Processing
All payment processing is handled securely by our external payment provider, Stripe. CanoTools does not process, store, or transmit your credit card information or sensitive payment details. We only receive secure webhook confirmations from Stripe regarding the status of your subscriptions.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following secure third-party services to operate CanoTools:
- Google: For strictly scoped OAuth authentication.
- Stripe: For secure payment gateway processing and invoicing.
